Why the cap is ending

The cap on unfair dismissal payouts is being removed because it was a legacy of EU law, which the UK is now moving away from. From 2027, the government wants to simplify employment law and give tribunals more flexibility to award compensation that truly reflects the financial loss suffered by high-earning individuals.
