Why Shetland for a spaceport?

Shetland's remote location on Unst is ideal for a spaceport due to its clear flight paths over the North Sea, minimising risk to populated areas. Its high latitude also offers efficient access to polar orbits, which are crucial for many Earth observation and communication satellites. The local infrastructure and community support have also been important factors in its development, making it a prime site for launches.
