The UK and German governments plan to use SaxaVord Spaceport on Unst in Shetland as part of closer cooperation on space. The pledge follows talks in Berlin last week between Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Chancellor Friedrich Merz. SaxaVord is Britain's first fully licensed vertical launch site, approved for up to 30 rocket launches a year. Two German rocket companies have signed launch agreements there.
