Why is the moon dusty?
The moon's surface is covered in a fine, abrasive dust called regolith, formed over billions of years by meteoroid impacts. When the SpaceX rocket hit, it kicked up a plume of this dust along with any gases trapped within the lunar soil, giving scientists a glimpse into the moon's composition.
