Why are eruptions common in Indonesia?

Indonesia is located on the 'Ring of Fire', a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur. This is due to the movement and collision of several tectonic plates. The frequent activity, like the Anak Krakatau eruption, means Indonesia has more active volcanoes than any other country.
