Nirmal Purja, known as Nimsdai, was a Nepalese mountaineer celebrated for his remarkable achievements. He gained global fame for climbing all 14 of the world's highest peaks, those over 8,000 metres, in a record-breaking time. His death in an avalanche last month prompted the proposal to rename Annapurna I in his honour, alongside plans for a statue and museum.
