Who funds royal projects?

Prince William's new fund for Dartmoor projects is a great example of how royal initiatives are financed. While some royal projects are funded by the public purse, others, like this one, use income from the Duchy of Cornwall. This ancient estate provides a private income for the heir to the throne, which they can then choose to allocate to various causes, as William has done here.
