Where is Northern Cyprus?
Northern Cyprus is a self-declared state on the northern part of the island of Cyprus, recognised only by Turkey. It's a popular tourist destination, especially for visitors from Turkey, and ferry services connect its ports, like Kyrenia, to the Turkish mainland, such as Taşucu. This incident occurred during one such routine journey.
