Where are chips made?

Most of the world's advanced chips are made in East Asia, particularly Taiwan and South Korea, by a few specialist companies. China is trying to boost its own chip manufacturing capabilities, which is why it's limiting exports of chemicals like dichlorosilane that are vital for chip production.
