What happens next after China limits Japanese chip chemical exports

China's new import controls on dichlorosilane from Japan are provisional, with a final ruling expected later. Japanese companies importing the chemical are now required to pay cash deposits to Chinese customs, with rates reaching as high as 99.2%. Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara said Tokyo will "respond appropriately" to avoid unfair harm to its companies.
