What's a penalty kick?
A penalty kick is a direct free kick awarded to a team when an opposing player commits a foul inside their own penalty area. It's taken from 12 yards out, with only the goalkeeper to beat. Beto's penalty for Everton against Stuttgart offered a clear scoring opportunity, often seen as one of the most straightforward ways to score in football.
