Explained in plain English

What is whey protein?

Whey protein is one of the two main proteins found in milk, the other being casein. It's a 'complete protein', meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids our bodies can't produce themselves. It's particularly valued for its ability to be digested quickly, making it effective for muscle repair and growth, which is important as we age.
