Explained in plain English

What is the UK Global Tariff?

The UK Global Tariff is the set of import duties that apply to goods coming into the UK from most countries outside the EU. It replaced the EU's Common External Tariff after Brexit. Chancellor John Healey's announcement to scrap tariffs on items like marmalade and gherkins means these specific duties will no longer apply.
