Explained in plain English

What is an OLED screen?

OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. Unlike traditional LCD screens, each pixel in an OLED display generates its own light. This means deeper blacks, better contrast, and more vibrant colours, as well as thinner and lighter displays. Apple's PROLED XDR is their specific branding for this technology, now in the MacBook Pro.
