What is aggregate score?

In two-legged football ties, like the one Rangers played, the 'aggregate score' is the total number of goals scored by each team across both matches. If the aggregate score is level after the second leg, as it was for Rangers and Jablonec, the game often goes to extra time and then penalties to decide a winner.
