What is a Wild Card?

In baseball, the Wild Card is a spot in the playoffs for teams that didn't win their division but still have a strong record. The Detroit Tigers are currently chasing one of these spots, hoping to make it into the postseason despite not being top of their division. It adds extra excitement to the end of the season.
