What are grid-tied systems?

Grid-tied systems connect your solar panels directly to the main electricity grid. When your panels generate more power than you need, the excess goes into the grid, sometimes earning you credit. If your panels aren't producing enough, like at night, you draw power from the grid. This is very different from the situation in Sudan, where the grid is often non-existent.
