What are 'derelict buildings'?

Derelict buildings are properties that have been abandoned and fallen into disrepair, often becoming eyesores on high streets. The plan allocates £125m to tackle these. By renovating them, the aim is to remove urban blight, create new spaces, and contribute to the regeneration mentioned in the story.
