The thieves stole 70,000 pints of Guinness, valued at £115,000. This works out to about £1.64 per pint at wholesale. By the time it reaches a pub, after taxes, transport, and pub mark-ups, a pint can easily sell for over £5, showing the significant profit margins in the drinks industry.
