How many bank holidays are there?
In England and Wales, there are usually eight permanent bank holidays each year. Scotland has nine, and Northern Ireland has ten. These are fixed dates like Christmas Day or New Year's Day, plus others. An extra one for a World Cup win, as discussed in the story, would be a special addition.
