How is council tax calculated?
Council tax is calculated based on your property's value in 1991, assigned to one of eight bands (A-H). Each local council then sets a tax rate for these bands, with higher bands paying more. This money helps fund local services, including a portion for policing, which is how it links back to the Met Police story.
