How do viruses spread?

Viruses, like the hepatitis A virus in Barry, spread in different ways. Some, like this one, spread through contaminated food or water, or close contact with an infected person. Others spread through coughing and sneezing, or even insect bites. Good hygiene, like washing hands, helps stop them in their tracks.
