How do glaciers move?

Glaciers are like very slow-moving rivers of ice, formed from compacted snow over many years. Gravity gradually pulls them downhill, causing them to flow and change shape. This constant movement can carry objects embedded within them, sometimes for decades, before they resurface as the ice melts, just like the mountaineer's backpack.
