How are emissions tracked?

Emissions are tracked through various methods, from direct measurement at industrial sites using sensors, to estimating based on fuel consumption or activity data like miles driven. For the UK's EV targets, it's about counting how many electric cars are registered versus petrol or diesel, to see if we're on track to reduce transport emissions.
