Explained in plain English

Can the ASA ban dangerous products?

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) regulates adverts, not products. They can demand that misleading or dangerous ads are removed, but they can't force a product off the market. That's usually the job of trading standards or other regulatory bodies, who have different powers.
