Can airlines ignore threats?

Airlines cannot ignore bomb threats due to strict international aviation security regulations and their duty of care to passengers. Every threat, credible or not, must be treated seriously and followed by established protocols, including diversions and searches, as seen with Austrian Airlines flight 82. Non-compliance could lead to severe penalties and loss of operating licenses.
