Yvette Cooper warns over fertiliser supply crisis
Millions could face worsening hunger if blocked fertiliser shipments keep driving up farming costs worldwide. Britain’s foreign secretary Yvette Cooper urged countries on Tuesday to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and steady fertiliser and fuel supplies during the Global Partnerships conference in London. The World Food Programme said another 45 million people may face food insecurity, while poorer countries are struggling most with rising prices.
