Your phone could cost lives in a plane emergency
Lives can be put at greater risk when people delay leaving aircraft during emergencies. At a meeting in Rio de Janeiro, the International Air Transport Association launched a campaign urging travellers to leave belongings behind and stop recording incidents, while some experts said penalties could be considered. Passenger jets are built to allow everyone to get out within 90 seconds, yet only 61% of surveyed travellers knew the rule.
