Meta releases Muse Spark Open, a new ‘open-weight’ AI model

Meta describes Muse Spark Open as the most powerful open-weight model released in the US to date, allowing developers to download and modify its internal configurations. Meta launched it on Thursday and claims it matches, and sometimes beats, Chinese rivals such as Alibaba's Qwen. It's tuned to run on two Apple Mac Studio computers with M5 Ultra chips, a rare tie-up between the two firms.
