Critics are praising Wonder Man, Marvel’s new Disney+ series, for being a refreshing, character-driven take on the MCU, focusing on actors navigating Hollywood rather than constant battles. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, the eight-episode show blends comedy, friendship, and introspection with minimal superhero action, proving engaging even for viewers uninterested in traditional comic-book fare. Its grounded storytelling and meta commentary make it one of Marvel’s most distinct TV offerings yet.
