Why is Prince William mourning a special forces veteran?

Prince William praised Nirmal Purja as 'one of the world's greatest mountaineers' after an avalanche killed him leading an expedition on Pakistan's Broad Peak. A 16-year British Army veteran, a decade of it in special forces, Purja had set world climbing records. In 2019 he climbed all 14 of the world's 8,000-metre peaks in 189 days, beating the record by seven years.
