Why Claude users got their limits reset this week

Resetting the meters lets heavy users start afresh, a nudge to stay just as rivals launch. Anthropic reset Claude's five-hour and weekly usage limits for all users, tech site ABAB News reported on Thursday, as OpenAI's GPT-5.6 went public and xAI rolled out Grok 4.5. Developer blogs note Anthropic has made such resets before at competitive moments, though the company hasn't said the timing is strategic.
