Why Claude AI's 'high effort' now feels 'low'

Anthropic, the company behind Claude AI, is reportedly running an A/B experiment that changes how its AI model interprets effort levels. For some users, Claude AI's "high" effort setting now performs like the previous "low" setting. The change affects Claude code 2.1.236+ and 2.1.237, but older versions and Opus 5 are not included.
