Why 16-year-olds will see social media turn off.
From next spring, 16 and 17-year-olds will be urged to stop using certain social apps between midnight and 6 am, with a default block. The curfew is an extension of a ban for under-16s, aiming to improve sleep and protect from online harms. While features like auto-play videos will be off by default, teenagers can easily override these restrictions.
