Ben Sandilands, 21, won the 1500m T20 final in 3 minutes 57 seconds at Scotstoun Stadium on Monday, Team Scotland's first athletics gold of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Sandilands, a Paralympic champion, finished over four seconds clear of Steven Bryce, who took bronze in 4 minutes 2 seconds. First Minister John Swinney led the tributes, and both athletes train at Fife Athletics Club.
