What hasn't changed in Britain's jobless hotspots?
The same local authorities topped and bottomed Britain's workless household rankings again this year, ONS data published Wednesday showed. Inverclyde, Rhondda Cynon Taf and South Tyneside stayed among the ten highest, while Wokingham, Reading and South Gloucestershire stayed among the ten lowest. Across Britain, the share of workless households rose in 53% of areas between 2024 and 2025 and fell in 47%.
