Waymo ending Uber robotaxi exclusivity in Austin and Atlanta

Waymo's exclusive robotaxi agreement with Uber in Austin and Atlanta will conclude in January 2028, when Waymo introduces its dedicated application in those cities. The change will also allow Uber to partner with other autonomous vehicle providers in those markets. Following the announcement, Uber's shares experienced a decline of over four percent, reaching a valuation not seen in more than a year.
