Water suppliers across England and Wales could charge extra during summer droughts

Ofwat, the national water regulator, is reviewing the pricing ideas to help lower household consumption when water supplies run low. Two suppliers, Anglian Water and South West Water, have already started testing setups that make people pay more over the summer. Prime Minister Andy Burnham recently attacked the sector over approved bill hikes, saying the businesses treat the public like a "blank cheque".
