Volkswagen warns 50,000 more jobs could go as costs keep rising

Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume told staff the carmaker may need another 50,000 job cuts after already agreeing to eliminate 50,000 roles across the group. Reuters reported the company says it has a 20% cost disadvantage against rivals and is reviewing staffing across all brands and regions. Labour representatives have reportedly opposed proposals that could also include closing up to four German factories.
