Video game cheating is an $8.5 billion industry, Activision claims
The Call of Duty maker reports that approximately $3.5 billion is generated each year from people paying for cheats in just 15 of its games. Activision's cheat squad, Team Ricochet, states they have disrupted over 375 reseller operations and shut down 31 main cheat vendors. The publisher notes cheating is a losing investment, with subscriptions costing upwards of $100.
