Venezuelan opposition leader arrives in Norway after escape
María Corina Machado, the Venezuelan opposition figure, reached Oslo on Thursday. Her arrival followed what officials described as a hazardous escape from Venezuela. On Wednesday, her daughter, Ana Corina Sosa, accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in Machado's absence. The 58-year-old's appearance on a hotel balcony marked her first public sighting in eleven months, after disputed presidential elections forced her into hiding. She also reunited with family after two years apart.
