US war with Iran: $25 billion in two months

Rising public spending worries are growing as the cost of the conflict adds pressure to US finances. A Pentagon official told lawmakers the two-month war with Iran has reached about US$25 billion, with most spending on ammunition alongside operations and equipment. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth defended a US$1.5 trillion military budget at a House hearing while facing criticism from Democrats.
