US seeks new hypersonic missile for Iran, citing range gap
People across the region could face renewed military tension if the request is approved. On 29 April, US Central Command asked for the Army’s Dark Eagle hypersonic missile to be sent to the Middle East for possible use against Iranian missile launchers moved beyond the reach of existing systems. The weapon’s reported range is 1,725 miles, and it has not yet been declared fully operational.
