US official: Starmer's World Cup call 'put people at risk'
Public safety became part of a political row after criticism over a World Cup scheduling decision. A US government official said Keir Starmer's intervention to keep England's match with Mexico at its planned kick-off time put people at risk, after FIFA had considered an earlier start because of security concerns.
