US approves 5 MH-60R helicopters for New Zealand, $1.5B.
More money will go towards New Zealand's military plans as the country seeks stronger protection for key facilities and future security needs. Washington approved a possible sale of five MH-60R helicopters and related gear to New Zealand on Friday, with the package valued at $1.5 billion. Built by Lockheed Martin's Sikorsky unit, the aircraft form part of a NZ$9 billion defence programme spread across four years.
