Ukrainian Olympian Disqualified Over Helmet Honoring War Victims
Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych has been disqualified from the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics after refusing to replace a helmet featuring images of more than 20 Ukrainian athletes and coaches killed in the war. The International Olympic Committee banned the helmet under rules against political statements, offering a black armband instead. Heraskevych declined the compromise and plans to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Ground News
