Ukraine refugee host payments will drop to £100 monthly from January 1
From January 1, households hosting Ukrainian refugees will see their monthly "thank-you" payments reduce from £350 to £100. Financial support for local authorities will also decrease on the same date, moving from £5,900 per guest to £3,300 per arrival. Sir Grant Shapps, a Conservative former defence secretary, warned this could suggest Western support for Ukraine is faltering.
