UK watchdog allows Danone to buy Huel for about £860 million
The takeover of the Hertfordshire-based protein powder brand was first agreed in March and is reportedly worth about £860 million. The Competition and Markets Authority started investigating the tie-up last month, but has now decided it will not hurt competition. Buying Huel helps the French food giant, which already owns Evian and Volvic, expand its nutrition business.
