UK Vehicle Output Falls During April Slowdown

Car factories are facing weaker overseas demand and pressure from rising costs, affecting production across Britain. Industry body SMMT announced on Thursday that April vehicle output slipped 1.2% from a year earlier, with commercial vehicle manufacturing and exports to China both falling sharply. Total production reached 58,513 units. Shipments of cars to China dropped 44.4%, although exports to the EU and United States increased.
