UK Universities May Cut Help For Poor Students
Struggling students could lose emergency aid and support schemes as universities face growing money problems across Britain. Vice-chancellors said hardship funding and outreach work aimed at poorer communities may be reduced if financial pressures continue during 2026. Universities UK estimated government policy changes could remove £3.7bn from higher education providers in England between 2024-25 and 2029-30.
